" A part of the Maryland SBDC Network - an accredited member of the Association of Small Business Development Centers"
The Western Region SBDC was created to provide comprehensive management and technical assistance to Western Maryland's small business community (Allegany, Garrett, Washington and Frederick counties). Each office serves as the focal point for combining federal, state, and local government resources with those of the private sector. We counsel and train aspiring and existing small businesses to resolve organizational, financial, marketing, technical, regulatory, and other issues they might encounter.
On our site you will find almost everything you need to start or grow a business.
If you are just starting out, you may want to go to our "6 Steps for Starting a Small Business". It will give you an overview of all the things you need to do. Once you have completed some initial steps, you then go to the Maryland Small Business Development Website (click here) and take the Smart Start Assessment, located left of center on the home page. This will help you see where you still may need help. Once your score is over 240, you may request help from a SBDC Counselor. I
If you are an existing business and want to grow, you may want to start at the Maryland Small Business Development website (click here) and take the Grow Smart Assessment. This will help identify the issues you will need to consider in order to grow or expand your business.
To help navigate our site we have a Table of Contents page that lists all the information on our site that is relevant to what you need.
The links at the left will also help you navigate and find you the information you need.
